Define a defult value

Hello All:

I'm trying to define a defult value that is automatically entered in a field. The data type of the exsiting field is smallint, if I want to set a defult value to "No Infor" which is not a constent, does anyone know how to do it?

You're not going to be able to have Text information in a SmallInt datatype field. You will need to either change the datatype of the field in the main table, or change your default value you're wanting.

To set a default value, you set it in the actual table structure. Roy
