When I generated a Data Access Page for my Access database, I noticed that the Navigation Bar buttons for New, Edit, Delete, etc. were disabled.

Is there a Property that I can change to enable them, or is there a way to make them available through VBS code? The Previous, Next and Filter buttons seem to come with built-in code to run them. Why isn't the same with the data entry buttons?

I have searched in the documentation that comes with Access, as well as the Knowledge Base at Microsoft, but didn't find an answer.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

You can check to see if a button on the navigation bar is enabled or disabled, but I don't believe you can enable or disable it via code.

I believe your problem is the setting for the RecordsetType property of the page. You may have it set to dscSnapshot rather than dscUpdatableSnapshot.

Also, the following rules apply if the user is allowed to edit the data:
1. Your page can contain data from only a single source (one table or query, for example)
2. You must use simple controls, like texboxes, combo boxes, and so on. You cannot use the bound PivotTable control.
3. You can only display a single row at a time.
