Sorry to ask such a lame?

I am setting up a cross tab report
where I need to have each row display a name and a total followed by how much % the toal is of the reports grand total.

Can someone please shed some light on this for me.

John

What version of CR are you using? You should always identify this when you post, as solutions often vary by version.

I'm not sure about how CR 10 is set up, but you should be able to choose the name field as your row, sum of your amount field as your first summary, and then add the amount field again as a second summary and then click on "change summary" and choose options->check "Show as a percentage of" and check "row".

If you want to display these summaries horizontally, go to the customize style tab->summaries->check "horizontal" and "show labels".

If you add a column field, you would have to take a different approach.

This is what I am going for

Emp1 date 1 date 2 date 3
cat1 cat1 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat2 cat2 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat3 cat3 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat4 cat4 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl

Emp2 date 1 date 2 date 3
cat1 cat1 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat2 cat2 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat3 cat3 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl
cat4 cat4 ttl %of ttl " " ttl %ttl

I hope that makes sense

If you want the percentage of the grand total, then create a formula {@percentgt}:

{table.amt}%sum({table.amt})

Add this as your second summary field, using sum as the summary. Then in preview mode, click on the % icon in the toolbar.

FYI--it's best not to oversimplify your issues in your posts, as sometimes other factors (like the existence of the column field) affect solutions.
