Hello,

We currently run BUE 11D - and backup up all our servers in one big job to tape.

However - I am wanting to split our one big job into smaller jobs (one for Exchange, one for file servers etc) and get one job to follow on from the previous job when it completes.

I understand the way to go for this is to use Policies.

However - I've tried to set up a Policy but I can't seem to get the setup right. I set up one Policy that contains two templates (an Exchange template and a File Server template) and to these templates I attached two selection lists (one for the Exchange server selection and one for the File Server selection). I then set up a rule to start the file server job when the Exchange job completes.

However - this creates 4 jobs when I would have expected two jobs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to if I have set up the Policy correctly please? I'm very likely missing the point or making a simple mistake!

Thanks
Arran

The best way to do this seems to be to setup a policy for each selection list seperately. Then create the jobs in the policy that you require for that selection list only. Once complete then use the policy to create the jobs.
