Hello. I am using crystal report 9 with Remedy 4.05 to create a report for FIXED status updates. I was wondering How i can create a parameter that will ask for a (?DATETIME)field in each AR# entry.
The parameter that i have created is only asked once and the parameter field is all the same for each AR Request #.

TIA

A tad vague...

I assume that you mean that you want numerous parameters, and then associate each parameter to a different AR#

This is rather complex, becasue queries don't go fire and then return back with the AR enty and then prompt for which date would be associated with each.

In general that's considered a seperate query (report) for each.

Now if you knew them in advance, you migth build up an array of dates and then in the record selection hardcode them, but this is a bad idea.

Perhaps if you embedded on demand subreports, then have each prompt upon executing you could get that sort of feel, but I've never tried it.

The user experience would be sort of fugly there as well.

You might be able to create a table of AR # and their dates in Excel and then join the Excel table to your data based on the AR # and set the dates to equal each other, again, not a pretty scenario either.

Thank you for the insight. I thought that I was asking alot on that. I am new to this and was not sure how to ask my question.
I must say though. YOu have answered my question in a response that i can now go back to the Boss Al Mighty and explain in detail why it would be better to continue to use Excel for this type of report. You see, we have already setup this report for her in excel but she wants it done in Crystal Reports.
I thank you again for your help on this matter.
