Create print logger?

I am new in Visual C++. I want to maintain user's record who printing on my Print Server. I have win2k AD installed. I want that my application should be start at the time of OS start and stay resident when ever someone send print my application can track the user id, how many pages he/she printed, date, time etc., etc., complete record into database.

Can anybody tell me where from i can get help or guideline or any resources who can tell me some thing about AD programing?

It may be easier for you to use the Auditing capabilities of 2K to do this. Why re-invent the wheel!
