My application programmatically creates EMails using the Outlook Object Library and then sends them. Works fine on machines running Outlook 97/98/2000, but with machines running Outlook 2002/XP, an Outlook security dialog opens requiring User to authorise application to send EMails for up to 10 minutes and to confirm sending of each EMail in turn.

Can this security routine be turned off, either programmatically in Access VBA or through some setting in Outlook 2002/XP?

Any help gratefully received
Patrick

As far as I am aware this cannot be turned off. This "feature" was first introduced in an Outlook 2000 security patch in response to viruses like Melissa and LoveBug that programmatically sent themselves to everyone in your address book. Microsoft's response was for Outlook to ask you to confirm everything's okay whenever a program (inc. Access) tries to send an e-mail on your behalf.

The best you can do is, as you point out, to allow the program access to your Outlook for 10 minutes. If you do come up with a "real" solution, I'd love to hear it!
