Hi there,

My application LabWare has CR XI runtime built in however our vendor is suggesting that the XI Runtime is causing our crashes (memory goes crazy and then CR crashes).

They suggest using ver 10 runtime.

Does anyone know why this might be the case. Any ideas or suggestion here would be very helpful.

Thanks

G

I use Labware as well so maybe I can help....however, we're still using the 8.5 runtime believe it or not.

Questions...

1. What version of Labware?
2. All reports? Or just a select few?
3. What DB type? Oracle or MSSQL?
4. What connection method are you using? ODBC? (If so, native drivers? Or Microsoft's version?)
5. Can you run the same report in the CR Designer without it crashing?

Thanks Jason,

I didn't get much info from the users however I'm going to look into whether it runs from the designer without crashing. That will be a good way of troubleshooting.

We use an ORacle 10 db via ODBC. I'll check for the drivers to see if they are Oracle, or MS.

Sure thing....just let me know if you need any more help.

Also -- did this just recently start happening? Or "has it always"?

Hi Jason.

Just an update.

We got a respond from Business Objects today that there are known issues when having Crystal XI runtimes and Oracle 10g database on a 64bit server.

Thanks....when you say 64 bit server...you mean the CR server, not the DB server....correct?

Because we have CR 10 on W2K and W2K3 connecting to Oracle 10g on IBM AIX (64 bit) with no issues.

Hi Jason,

Yes the CR server - not the db
