I have sun box V445 with solaris 10.
We had several power outage an the box has problems booting now. The main error is Corrupt label - bad geometry label says 143359488 blocks; Drive says 143112591 blocks /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0s0: I/O error.

I tried fsck and fsck with boot cdrom -s but the same error came up. I also tried running newfs - N /dev/rdsk/XXXX but got the same error back.

How do I fix this error, I think I should change the label to what the drive is saying but don't know how or if this is the proppper thing to do.

you have a corrupt label, are you mirroring the disks locally via Solaris Volume Manager? or hardware raid?

If you are using hardware raid, than I don't know. I use Software raid.

If you are using software raid,

try to boot from the other side of the mirror: EG: boot disk1

if you label the disk, I believe your going to lose everything, but since it is corrupted, I guess it does not matter.

The disks are hardware raid and I don't care if I loose everything.
