Cookies in ASP 3.0 and ASP.NET

Does anyone know if cookies and session variables written in ASP.NET pages can be read by ASP 3.0 pages...and vice-versa? I'm having some trouble (actually, I can't...) read cookie values that are previously set in by a ASP.NET WebForm from .asp pages.

Actually, I think I have it figured out with cookies....it seems to be working now....but session variables are now driving me batty. I thought I remember something about this....ASP.NET and ASP 3.0 not being able to share session stuff.
