convert to postscript

Hi all
for converting to PS file (from my MSword files and other file formats)
I am using the virtual printer ("create postscript file")
but it seems it is not very good
can I upgrade the driver or something?

(my OS is winXP and the print-to-file device is named AdobePSGenericPostScriptPrinter)
