I am running RH 8.0 and have installed Apache 2.0, PHP 4.2.2 (when installing the OS) and the Oracle9i (9.2.0.1.0) client.

I can connect to my webserver and PHP works but I am unable to connect to my remote Oracle database using PHP. I get an error message "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ocilogon() in /var/ on line 6"

Is this because PHP was not compiled by RH with the "--with-OCI8=[DIR]" option? Do I now need to recompile PHP?

What do I do and how do I go about doing it please? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. The ONE ( HP-UX + Solaris + AIX + Tru64 = Unix)

Try finding an RPM named [tt]php-oracle[/tt] or similar. There should be one somewhere :). //Daniel

Hi,

recompile apache+php and make sure you integrate oracle as well. Please read configure help for option under php.

Okay can't find a php-oracle rpm as I've tried. I've read about the recompiling but not sure exactly how to dot this, the manuals and info thus far seem confusing.
