Hi all...

I have a list of 700 email addresses on a spreadheet all in cloumn 'A'. I need a way to get all the values in these seperate cells into one cell with the format "EMail1, EMail2, Email3, EMail4, EMail5... EMail699, Email700" so that I can copy the contents of this single cell into my 'To' field in Lotus Notes.

Using the Concatenate command, I am only allowed a maximum of 30 rows (plus its bloody time consuming!!!!) which is obvioulsy insufficient for my needs.

I'm using Excel 97 (for my sins)

Any help would be gratefully welcomed.

Many thanks in advance,

Dave

IU don't know about Lotus notes, but in Outlook, you can copy and paste a vertical list of email addresses from Excel to the To: field, and Outlook will insert semicolons and send the email to each address. Have you tried that approach? It would save the conversion process.

Have you tried simply to select the column of names and paste them in?

That seems to work just fine for a few names that I tried. I don't know whether having 700+ names would be a problem though.

Another possibility is to create a group and paste the column of names into the group list. Then just send the e-mail to the group.

BTW, you may want to use the bcc (or a group name) unless you really want each of the 700 addressees to get the full list of all of the addresses you are sending the mail to.

wait concatenate is simple in excel. give me an example of what is in the cells and i will tell you exactly how to do one cell and pull it down or the rest

Copying the column of 700+ email addresses and then pasting into the To field will, indeed, work. I just ran a test with 750 fake email addresses being pasted into Lotus Notes and it works fine.
