I know asp, and I am trying to move forward to other web programming languages. I know cold fusion and jsp are all powerful languages, but can anybody tell me what is the advantage and disadvantage for these two languages? and which is better in the web application?
Thanks.

Really there is no huge benefits, JSP, multi-platform, but you have to know a little about java. CF on the other hand, pick that up, and you off and running.

In terms of speed, ColdFusion wins over JSP, hands down. Which, in my opinion, is one of the most important features of any programming platform. ColdFusion is compatible with Windows 95-NT-2000, Linux, HP-UX, and Solaris, so compatibility really shouldn't be a big issue. Also, like Grover said, the time to market is usually cut in half with ColdFusion because of it's easy, tag-based, HTML-like methodology.
