The client I'm trying to assist is intermittently getting the following error when attempting to print checks:

"Error 012 on file: F:\Macola70\DATA\CHECKREC.BTR - File not found"

The problem might appear or disappear randomly on a PC after a reboot. At the same time, the same user would be able to log in with his credentials on a different PC and print checks successfully. This happens to all of the PCs at different times.

The setup is as following:

Btrieve 6.15
Macola Progression 7.5
Server: Novell 4.11
Client: XP Pro

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
LaraM

Btrieve 6.15? Are you kidding me? This is a very, very old piece of sofware. Are you planning on upgrading soon?

Also, 7.5 is not the complete version of Macola. Please give the complete version including the service pack you are using. Example: 7.5.103f

Finally, is there a file called "checkrec.btr" in the location specified? In short I cannot figure out why this error is intermittent -- it should be happening all the time, or never.

Is this still happening? If so, try exporting the checkrec to text, renaming the checkrec.btr to checkrec.bt1, initialize the checkrec file, import in the text file. Your file may be sitting on a bad spot on your hard drive. Also verify if macola is mapped to F or M. If it should be M, then you may have a problem with your novell log in script & the users aren't getting the proper drive mappings.
