I have a report that lists specific mutual funds and there assets($ vakue) per dealer. I need to create a pie chart that lists only the top 10 funds for each dealership and there asset value, however, I still need to see, as text, all the dealers and there asset value. Also, in this chart, if the text in the details shows that 8 funds for the particular dealer have assets in the positives and then the 9th fund has a neg. value, I need the pie chart to show only 8 funds and there associated values. So therefore it will stop charting when it hits negative assets. So it could be that i am only showing top 4 funds for that dealer, top 8 etc, I am using crystal reports version 7. Is this possible? Thanks everyone and great forums.

You could have a container report showing the chart and a sub report to show all the values.

The container report could have selection criteria toreturn only those values that are in the top ten positive.

The sub report would show all values. If you have selection criteria as parameters, these can be passed to the sub report.

Does Crystal 7 have the Top N function? If so, couldn't you use that instead of a subreport?

Hi guys,

I'm still not able to create this. The top N function will only limit the report to show the number that I chose. thus it will only display what choice I choose. I need to be able to have the computer find a negative value and if it does only show the funds upto the negative. The n value is not static but will be dynamic. I need the graph only to show the values and labels for the number of funds per dealer, however in the details the report to show all funds regardless of whether they are negative for each dealer. So therefore a top N sort will work for what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks.
