Changing Incremental UNIX backup to stop Unkown filter error

I currently use ARCSERVE 2000 on a Windows NT4 SP6a Server with client agents to backup a mixed Windows/Unix network. I noticed that in the log files I kept getting the error:

AW0268 E9110 Unkown filter type - 5

in the backup logs, on all the Unix boxes when doing an incremental backup but not when doing a full backup. I have since found this to be caused by the fact that the ARCSERVE Unix agents do not allow for incremental backups as it utilises the Windows only archive bit to detect if the file has changed and needs backing up. Another posting here suggested splitting the single backup jobs into two jobs, one for the windows boxes and another for the Unix boxes where the backup type was set to full but a filter applied so that only files changed within the last day are backed up (an almost incremental backup). This seems it would resolve the Unix errors but I have several issues to resolve before I can do this:

1. How to get the first (Windows incremental) and second job (Unix changed since previous day) onto one tape every night

2.How I schedule the second job to start once the first has finished bearing in mind the backup job duration varies.

3.How I migrate the existing GFS tapes over to the new backup routine.

Any pointers/hints would be appreciated
