I want to show the position change of some stocks I am
tracking in excel. When the value of a stock changes I want
to see the following change with it.
A B C D E F
Current pos Prev Pos Pos Change Ave Pos ch. Symbol Valu
1 3 2 1.5 awg 10

Here is what I have been doing. I first do a sort on column
F to sort from high to low by highlighting all columns. The
first time everything works but the next time when the values in column F change numbers in column B do not come out correctly. Any help on this?

Hi thanks for the reply. Here are the formulas I am using.
Current position. Just a number like 1
Previous position. 0 to start with
Position change. Previous position- current position
Average position. Position change + current position/ 2
The first time I change the value and the do a sort on the changed value everything looks ok. The problem comes up when the value changes for the second time the number in the previous number is wrong. If you can find a way to make
the previous position number come out to be the previous
current number then we are there. I can send you a ss if you like showing what I am doing.
