change path for symbols

hi folks,

when having a symbol in fireworks in which there is/are bitmap(s) used from a specific path, is it possible to

a) change that path after created the symbol?
b) make that path relative?

what do you mean by relative?

also once you flatten an image then the paths that you drew are fixed and cannot be changed. however if you draw out a path you can always select the white arrow and move paths.
