Report created in CE9.
Exporting to Excel 2000.

Report field is a date field in Crystal 9. I can change this to any date format within Crystal 9.

When exporting to Excel 2000, the field is being shown as Excel General Format.

I have tried Excel 97/2000 format and Excel (text only) format.

I can't seem to hit on the correct options.

Is there a solution for this? I need the date from Crystal to be a date in Excel without any user input in Excel because the exported Excel File is being linked to other Excel files.

I'd guess that you mean the Excel (data only) as the second thing you tried.

Note that the Convert Date Values to String should NOT be checked.

I just tested an export here and it sent a date as a date (Using CR 9).

If a field in the same column preceding it is null or not a date, Excel might determine it's data type as not being a date.

Kep in mind that Excel is bad at data typing.

Also you might try applying the service pack:

-k

After installing the service pack, when I use the Data Expert and select my tables, when I select the Links tab Crystal Reports 9.0 crashes.

I get the message "system is not responding".

Any ideas?
