In CE9 is it possible to restrict users ability to export to certain formats with Java, Java Plugin and ActiveX viewers without having to rewrite the viewers?

Well, you could disable the export dlls by renaming them to .old but that would be a broad sweep.
Depending on how your reports are set up, you could use server groups to force some objects to use a certain (export dll restricted) page server.
I can't think of a better way.

What are the locations (Generally) of the export dll's? It would work for us to disable for the whole server...

Thanks

c:\program files\common files\crystal decisions\2.0\bin

all the crxf and u2f are export dlls.

I had the same issue with not wanting users to be able to export to 'rpt' format and the only method I could come up with was to rename the export dll. In CE85 you could modify the export page but I asked Crystal Support and now the export features are built-in to the WCS which I think is pretty stupid unless they had a good reason to do this. There's actually a lot of things about CE9 that I don't like. Been using it since 10/1 and I think it pretty much sucks. I wish I'd stuck with CE85.

If you are using ePortfolio, you can edit out the format options you don't want users to select.

See schedule.CSP, lines 2297-2306. Any options you want to make unavailable, just put a // at the front of the line.

Note that the text displayed is in a language-localization variable. So, L_CR maps to "Crystal Report" on line 214.
