I am getting the following error when i am trying to create remote component in MTS

"The catalog version on the selected computer is incompatible with this application. The catalog is either newer or older than this application and a common version for communication does not exist."

Maybe it is incompatible between MTS and COM+. The catalog in COM+ is different from MTS.

Maybe you need to change code associated with MTSAdmin.I donot know how you use catalog in MTS howerver i think it is easy to rewrite it in COM+.

Sorry! i cannot make it very clear because i have not migrated to COM+ and at lease i donot want to do it now.Hope other guys out there can give you more suggestions.

we started implementing MTS in one of our web project. we have some doubts in MTS. so please clarify our doubts.

1. my web application is mainly interacting with 3 servers.
a) database ( windows nt sever)
b) business components and data layers ( windows nt server)
c) email server (windows 2000)

2. we installed Dcom for client machine. we have idea for client and single server interactions. But we are failing to access componets from remote server. can u give the solution for this (How to implement MTS in remote servers)

Hi Sridhar,
I amnot sure whether or not i can solve your problem because i cannot know
your situation clearly. Here i simply describe our implementation of MTS and hop
e you can fix it up by yourself.
DCOM ADO2.6
client---------MTS--------------MS SQL server7/2000
| | |
\ / \ / \ /
win9x/NT NT+SP6 NT+SP6
DCOM DTC started DTC started

The BO(Business Object) and DO(Data Object) hosted in MTS
which visit SQL server using ADO 2.6.All the components are registered at client
side by running the client exe exported from MTS packages. The DTC must started
on MTS and SQL server to support distributed transaction.

BTW i cannot reply your email:(
