CAS protocol and DNIS

Hi,
I can not decode CAS signaling between md and an IVR application.
1)Is there any decoding program for it?
2)Is DNIS info sent to IVR application by MD? Or is it activated by a parameter?

This is how I analyse the MFC (R2) signalling on CAS trunks:

1) Open the log file
2) STUNI:LIM=1,UNIT=TLP30;
you get: YOUR TRACE INDIVIDUAL IS 1, or something similar
3) STTSI:TRI=1;
this starts the signal tracing
4) make a call
5) STTSE:TRI=1;
this stops the signal tracing
6) STRAP:TRI=1;
you get the printout
7) STISR;
erase the buffer
8) Close the log file

Now you can analyse the log file:

Look for the RECSIG signals in the log file
It contains the digits that you have received.
In this example MD110 received the digit “7”
It is located in position 003 in the RECSIG signal

Digits that are sent are located in SENSIG signals.
In this example MD110 sent the digit “1”

Now you can make a list of digits that you have sent and received.
To understand the meaning of this digits you have to be familiar with MFC protocol.

We use ELP7 CAS extensions.(TLU76/3 board)
So is it possible to do it?

as far as I know, EL7 is using DTMF or decadic sending of digits. I never tried to trace CAS DTMF signalling, but I suppose that digits should be represented in the same way (position 3 in RECSIG and position 2 in SENSIG).

The next thing you should know is the signalling that I have described above is REGISTER signalling, it carries the extension numbers, caller ID, and similar.

You could also have problems with LINE signalling. It carries information about line seizure, off-hook, on-hook, etc..Line signalling is also hidden in signal traces, but I couldn't find out where it is...

If you are having a problem with line signalling, the best thing is to borrow some signal analyzer :)
I did the same..

Hi,
My exact problem is this:

We want to configure, running our IVR application, by the help of DNIS.
Our IVR system gets DNIS info from Genesys Tserver (and so the Application Link) But when CTI application is down it can not get DNIS info,and IVR application fails because of this reason.
What i want to learn is, is it exactly sent to IVR by MD and IVR can not detect this, or the MD doesn't sendDNIS info?

Our IVR vendor (Intervoice) insists that they can not getDNIS info from MD and so that they use Genesys , and i want to prove that in CAS protocol DNIS info is sent to other side
 
I assume all parameters (e.g. ADC) are correct initiated?
If yes , trace ELP7 (not TLP30). In the trace we are able to see if the CID is sent or not.
 
The only possible way to get it is to set the last digit in ICAT to 8. Then you will get it as DTMF tones but it also affect other signaling so do not expect it to work by changing the parameter you have to do some work in the IVR to.

Hi, you shall have the same ICAT at all extension on the same tlu 76 board. So you must make extee and then extei.
 
The trace shows that ext.69793 is deflected to 4861. This is OK, then there is a RVA connection (message 12), then in USREVENT the CID is missing. The rest is then meaningless here. So try to arrange the parameters correct, and, as fidde wrote, consider also changes to IVR side.

First i set the ICAT=0008 ,It rings but no answer from IVR application,
after this i set the ICAT=00C8, and now the IVR application gives response. But still not sure,if the IVR gets DNIS now.IVR vendor will make some tests on it.
I will write here the updated result.
