I can connect and change messages from VAL manager and the port link light is up on my switch, however, the TRMT light on it is dead and the RCV light is on and I can see the ping blinking RCV.

Could there be something in set-up I have wrong or is it a bad card. And of course ann back-up and restore won't work due to this IP connection issues. I think the card is bad, has anyone any suggestions to prove otherwise?

Thank you kindly.

I have been fighting a problem on a new val board for the last week and finally got it working yesterday. It would not load a new announcement using Val Manager or through FTP. I finally busied the board (busy bo xxxxx) (disable filexfer board xxxxx) (enab filex) and release board and now it works like a charm. Not sure if it is something in the newest version of firmware or what. But thats what I had to do to make mine work.

let me know if you need me to post the config for you and I will if you just want to double check it.

Thank you the config may help, but I cant even get a ping response from this board. I tried your process, but no joy.

Thank you for your help and the config info may help to rule out any oversight on this, but as this config worked with my old board and I can contact it over VAL Manger via the CLan I think the board may be bad.

Hey mikeydidit I was wondering what went on with that recording. Glad it all worked for you.

Good luck
ED

1a2 to ip I seen it all

Yeah Ed it was a PITA for a while. I ended up using several programs to make the conversion from a CD type format to CCITT which is really just U-Law and reduce the khz from 44000 to 8000. The Gold Wave ended up being the best as far as I am concerned. The recording was way to loud so I was also able to reduce the volume with the program. I did have to get a second copy from the recording company. When I reduced the noise levels (a little hiss) it made the recording sound too dull. They were able to run it through a filter on their end and when I got it back it was very clear. All I had to do then was convert the file and reduce the volume.

For the OP. I think one problem may be using the IP of your CLAN. You need to use the IP address for your Val Board to pin,FTP and Val manager.

(Yeah I also found this out the hard way, but I am lucky like that.)

Let me know if you still need help with the configs.
