Can't Dial Internationaly after PRI carrier switch 4

Hi!

We are having a problem with our IPO 406 (4.2),or our phone company that is driving me up the wall! We recently switched our PRI's (we have two) from AT&T to TelePacific. After the move we can no longer dial internationally.

The phone company has assured me that we are not being blocked from making international calls and that both PRI's should be able to dial outside the company.

Currently our IPO is setup to use ARS codes and we dial 7 to reach an outside line. The reason why we are using ARS is that it was the only way i could figure out how to get local calls to connect without dialing the area code too. The code that I have setup for international calls is as follows:

ARS Shortcode [7]

What happens when an international number is called (specifcally one in Italy we need to reach) is that the number shows up in my Call Status window with a status of Dial, but it just sits there. On my phone i see all the digits, but its like the call is not even attempting to be made. I don't get any error tones or messages. It just sits there in limbo.

I have been working with a 3rd party Avaya tech to get some support on this. We pulled some Monitor logs as i made a test call and he says that it is selecting a PRI channel to try and make the call, but im not really convinced!

I have no idea how to get the system to dial the digits necessary to call international. If anyone has any ideas please shoot them my way! Thank you.
 
Have you tried it without sending 011?

I am not sure i am following you. How can i place an international call without 011? I would like to try whatever you are suggesting but would need more info about how to do this.

On another note,

TelePacific repair emailed me and said that they think they know what the problem is. They believe that our International dialing is coming down the PRI incorrectly.

The test set by the tech with our IPO not connected sent a Numbering Plan: Numbering plan : 1 - ISDN/Telephony numbering (E.163,4)

However they said the traps they pulled on our Avaya trying to dial the same number sent this information:

Numbering plan : 0 - Unknown or not applicable <<<<<CHANGE THIS TO “ISDN/Telephony numbering”

So I was doing some reading on this, and saw that I am supposed to be able to change my ARS code to something like

Code: 0N;
Number: 0NSi949xxxxxxx (replace the x's with an actual DID we control)

It didn't seem to be working though.
 
I go for HSM's solution !
I have seen strange outgoing problems and a factory default and rebuilding solved it often.
Nothing changed but still it worked after the default.

Well you would simply drop 011 in ARS.

Code: 011N; Number: N Feature: Dial

Once in ARS you use 011N to determine that the caller intends to dial 011 + N. In order to send 011 to the provider you have to append it back into the dial string. Number: 011N. In this case you would simply drop 011 in the Tel field.

Honestly, looking at your codes, I don't see how you are sending 011 anyway yet your sysmon traps clearly show 011+N. I don't suppose that Italy is 11?

Looks like you are calling ?

I still don't see how you are appending and sending 011. Post a fresh sysmon trace that shows you dialing the digits then processing the call then hanging up. Also post your current ARS entries. I would consider creating a new ARS form and processing through it to see if it sends out according to what you expect.

I think you guys are getting confused... its not appending 011 at the end of the phone number, this is part of the actual number itself!

39-0422-433011

39 = Italy
0422 = City
433011 = Actual Phone Number of the Company

I am interested in dropping the 011 and using just N for the digits to see what happens. Going to give this a shot.

The short code we are using is Code: 0N; Number: 0N Feature: Dial.

If i use just plain "N" for the number section i get an error in the logs that says:
Cause=28, Invalid number format

I found one other difference between our system and another IPO that is working over TelePacific lines, we are at 4.2(4) and they are running 4.2(14). I am probably going to upgrade voicemail pro and the IPO version to see if this resolves the issue.

Even though it was suggested before, i am VERY reluctant to wite the IPO and then reload the config if everything else is working except the international dialing. Keep you all posted!

Surely that's not going to work CarGoSki, that isn't the correct number for dialling italy then, the preceeding 011 is required or have you a fiendish plan? :)

Its a Yankee thing. Here in the States some providers want to see 011 and some do not. The results can vary if you send 011 when they don't expect it and vice versa.

Naturally I don't know what leads me to believe his IPO is in the US but I sure it is one of the things I read. Of course I could be wrong.
