After a problem with the PDC I now have 2 NT workstations unable to log onto the network. I have taken them off and added them back but they still do not let you in. If you log on as administrator you do have a working system, browse network and run network applications.

Have you tried pinging the server or router?

You mean you can remove & rejoin them to the domain, but can't log on to domain as normal user? Is the administrator logon local or domain? Can the user ids you are trying log on to the domain successfully from other machines? What exactly happens (including any messages) when you try to log on?

Have you tried removing the clients from the domain, removing their accounts from the server. Reboot the clients. Create new accounts for them on the server and then rejoin the domain.

I've had to do this in the past and it usually works OK

Taking out of domain didn't work.
I have identified the problem to be an entry in the LMHOSTs file that was hard coded to the ip address and name of PDC. By changing this it worked
