Can anyone assist? We have a Windows 2000 Server setup as DC. It was recently moved and supplied with a new IP address.
Since the move we can no longer open 'Active Directory Users and Computers'. We are getting the error message 'Naming information cannot be located because the specified domain either does not exist or cannot be contacted'
The server is setup so that local workstations can access via Terminal Services. This is working without any problem.
We also have a remote dial-in link for support purposes. This has also stopped working and we receive the error message 'Error 718 connection timed out while waiting for valid response from remote computer'

I am not sure if these errors are related, but any assistance to resolve this would be greatly appreciated

HI.

The server should point to its own DNS server in the LAN card configuration.
Use "IPCONFIG /ALL" to verify.
Use DCDIAG and NETDIAG (first install the support tools from W2K Server setup CDROM).
