I hope that someone out there can give me some good news. I now have 15 forms that will not open in my database. I found a msg forum that describes the problem exactly, and lists a resolution (to recreate the databse).

My question is, do I really need to recreate the entire database or can I just recreate the "broken" forms? Anyone experience this??

Here's a description of the problem & the posted resolution:

thanks, Heather

I found the answer to this on the Microsoft Knowledge base.

SYMPTOMS
When you try to open a form or a report, it flashes as if it is trying to open, but then it does not open. You cannot open the form in any view, including Design view. Also, if you try to view the code for this form or report by clicking Code on the View menu, nothing happens.

-or-

When you compile a database, you may receive the following error message:

You cancelled this operation.

CAUSE
One or more forms or reports in the database have become corrupted.

RESOLUTION
Create a new database, and then import all the objects from the problem database into the new database. You may be unable to import any of the forms or reports that are displaying the problem listed in the "Symptoms" section. If you are not able to import these objects, you must re-create them.

Hi,

I have not had this but have fixed other funnies (tar ms) by creating a new db and importing all of the objects from the suspect db into the new db.

just a thought,...
