Hello,

I know there is a way to do this CenturyLink said there was a "hack" to allow caller id to come in and out of our T1 DSS line here is the setup.

I appreciate it!

I've heard of using *ANI*DNIS for inbound on T1 E&M trunks, but not for outbound CID control

What do you mean ANI DNIS TouchToneTommy where do I find that the caller ID works on 1800# but not local and long distance :(

ANI and DNIS are what were used on inbound toll-free trunks in the pre-PRI days. ANI (Automatic Number Identification) is the same as caller ID number and DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) is the same as DID. All digits were sent in-band via DTMF on a T1 or analog trunk. We did several of these in the early to mid 90s. Per TTT's note, the digit sequence was * then ANI then another * then DNIS then a terminating *. There is no facility for caller's name. There is no "standard" for outbound caller ID modification, although you MAY be able to negotiate a one-off with the carrier. You'd be better off to convert to PRI.
