Call Forwarding-Bridging Question

I have a situation where we have a boss who wants all calls personally answered within three rings. We have two extensions that are covered by this request, the main number that rings at the front desk and the boss’s extension. There is also an executive assistant who is available to cover calls at her extension. All of these phones are regular phones (boss & assistant are 6408D+ and front desk is a 6416D+).

Right now I have the front desk phone configured so that it is bridged to all three call-appr’s on the boss’s phone and only the boss’s first call-appr button bridged to the assistant. When I do a “list bridge (front desk extension)” it only shows the first two buttons are being bridged (1 & 2). I have confirmed by testing that we are only getting two lines to bridge between the boss’s ext and the front desk. Also, if I do a “list bridge (assistant ext)” I show the boss’s first button bridged.

First question, can I bridge the same button on the boss’s phone to more than one extension? If yes, why am I not getting all three of the boss’s call-appr’s bridged to the front desk and how can I fix that?

Also, we now want to add a 2nd phone at the front desk so that it can be a backup to handle incoming calls and the boss’s ext. We also want to have the main number and all the boss’s call-appr’s to ring to the assistant ext. What is the best way to do this? Keep in mind that the phones need to be answered before we get to three rings and the front desk and assistant will need to know what extension is ringing so that they can answer the call properly.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

The first thing is on the bridged apperances you probably have them all set to line 1. To do this for mor ethan one line you need to program them as line 1 and line 2. I would also suggest that they use call pickup instead of directly answering his line so they can transfer the calls back to him if they need to. They will bascially answer his phone from a line apperance from their phone.
