Does anyone know how to create borders in InDesign which do not change the size of picture/text box? I have been going into "Stroke" menu to align border properly but I'm wondering if there's a way to avoid this step and have border automatically conform to size of box.

Thanks!

Create an object style. Call it stroked box.
In the Object Styles palette. Align the stroke to the inside.

thank you R.M. Where do I find "Object Style" pallette?

thanks Marcus. I don't have an "object styles" option under "Window" menu? I'm only in CS1. Is this a CS2 thing?

Yeah...
But you can still align the stroke to the outside edge in CS1, only I can't remember where it is.

You should be able to align the stroke on the Inside, middle or Outside of the box frame

Try in the Strock pallet...If not look up your help menu for aligning strokes.
