I have windows XP and am making use of Partion Magic + Boot Magic to get Linux running.

I created a new partion for Linux and one for swap space using Partion Magic. With Boot Magic I got a menu to select Windows XP or Linux on booting up.

On selecting Boot Magic 's Linux I get a

Preparing machine to load Linux

but it does not attempt to read the Linux ISO cd which I have ready in the drive . If I reboot with the cd in place it does start installing Linux but I am not sure if this bypasses Boot Magic .

Any hints ?

You are trying to load a "Linux ISO cd"? Is it an installation CD that the machine should be booting from on it's own (may have to configure that in the BIOS)? If so, you may not have burned it correctly, causing it to not boot the system by itself. You shouldn't need to use Boot-Magic to start the installation process. You may want to use it afterwards (but probably not necessary).
