Dear all,

I hope you can help me. We have recently purchased/installed and using the new Blackberry 7230 in conjunction with the BES server as well as Exchange 2000.

The problem we seem to have only seems to be linked to a couple of devices only. The problem is when you connect the device to the cradle/computer it automatically syncronises, however it does not seem to update the email. Any emails we delete from the users exchange inbox are not removed from the device. So the list of emails on the device just grows and grows.

I have checked all the settings on the device and computer against another user who's device works correctly and I am at a loss to understand why.

Any ideas would be grateful.

Many thanks

We are having the same issue. I asked a RIM rep and they said as long as you have it marked within the desktop manager software to have desktop win and reconcile email is checked it will remove any unwanted emails. I believe there is a place on the device itself you have to mark to say desktop wins. We have had some success but they still don't all work. Hope this helps some

I spoke to the support department myself and they said the same. However it does not seem to make any difference. Its just odd that out of the 10 devices we have it only happens on 2, the others works as you would expect.

Thanks for the help

We were having the same problem. Deleted messages must go into the deleted folder first. The Blackberry looks there to see what needs to be removed. We had a user that always kept his deleted folder purged and therefore the blackberry could never sync.

I don't know if this is specifically your issue but this fixed our problem.

I spoke again to the tech with RIM, he said to make sure outlook is not setup to delete while closing. I have one user who has a 6710 and has the wireles reconcile on and it is working fine. Wireless reconcile is setup on the handheld itself. I am still not having any success with this. Hope this helps some of you.

On the handheld from the email screen, click the trackwheel and select options.
Then you will see the options for Wireless Reconcile. This needs to be set to on. For Desktop Delete ON: select either prompt or Desktop and Handheld for it to delete from both. If you select prompt it will ask you each time you delete, where you want to delete from.

Dear all,

Thank you for your time and help on this problem. I have now been able to resolve it and have detailed the resolution below:

Firstly the RIM device does not recognise emails that are either moved or perminantly deleted (Shift+Del). To ensure your emails syncronised correctly emails should be deleted to the deleted items folder. After either 20 minutes or syncronising the device with your desktop it will remove those emails.

Simple really.
