I have a Cisco 7206xl and a Lucent PM3. I have an ATM DS3 card (for DSL) a channelized DS3 card for T1's and whatnot, and a Clear channel DS3 card (waiting for my Fractional T3 backbone line to come in) in the 7206, and 2 backbone T1's on the PM3. My question is this: (I came into this network and it was configured very poorly) Thwe 7206 is currently running BGP4 for both of our backbone providers and pushing everything for provider2 out the ethernet interface into a 2924 switch to the PM3. Wouldn't it be wiser to run iBGP on the PM3 and the cisco for internal Load balancing then eBGP from 7206 to Provider1 and eBGP from the PM3 to provider2? This would seem to be a better configuration as the iBGP could do all the load balancing for the two providers. Also, we have 6 t1's from 1 provider and 2 from the other, this would seem to me to present a load balancing issue (one would think that true load balancing needs the same or very close to the same amt of bandwidth from both providers). I realize that this question is probably not standard, but any help is appreciated.
