Hello All-

I am in the process of installing a BCM 450 with 2 PRI and I am having trouble getting inbound calls to route to target lines. For example I have set up DN 221 with target line 361 to appear and ring. I have configured target line 361 with the public received digits of "1234" and made 221 the prime set of this target line. Using BCM Monitor I can see inbound calls coming in on Line 32 and that the correct 4 digits are being sent. If I do not have a prime set configured for Line 32 calls are dropped, if I do configure a prime set for line 32 call are sent to the prime set not the target line. I have never had this problem with older BCMs or MICs and was hoping somebody could help me out. Thanks in advance.

Have you set up the PRI lines correctly..

UK: Primary external, overlap receive ticked, digits set to match your telco 4( Normally 6 from BT).
What is the line number off the first PRI-eg 31 -60.

Line 32 ???
Strange line number to start with

If you have removed the prime from the first line in a PRI the system removes all the primes for this card..
lines 31-60..

Check this

Sounds as if there is a problem with the BCM. If you have set this up before as it looks like it should work to the target. No ptime on the trunks is ok since you don't want unprogramed DID's going to the prime phone. And app&ring with prime of target the set is correct. Timing on PRIs primary and secondary?

Thank you for the feedback,

In terms of line numbering I have them set as follows:

Lines 1-8 reserved for VOIP

PRI #1 Lines 9-31 (primary)
PRI #2 Lines 32-54 (secondary)

I have changed the sequencing so that all incomimg calls start on Line 9 and work their way up and all outgoing start with 54 and work down. This has not resolved my orignal target line problem. I spoke with a Nortel rep this morning and he confirmed that my programming was correct but I was not up to date on software patches. I have almost 2 GB worth of updates released since May 2009 to install, I am downloading them now and hope to install this afternoon. I will post if this corrects my issue or not...

yes patches maybe the answer as we had issues w/ the first 450 installed w/ a PRI and had to involve Nortel.

As odd as this may sound, try changing your sequencing from what it is to the opposite. If it's set to Descending sequential, change it to Ascending or vice vers.

I had the exact same issue last week on a 450 and making that change made it work properly. I don't know where you are but this was in Canada and we need to match how the telco has it configured.

It's worth a shot.

Good Luck.

***FIXED***
Installing latest updates did not correct the issue so I spoke with Nortel tech support and found out that my problems were being caused by installing the 2 DTMs in slots 1 and 2 in the main cabinet. I was told that the DTM set to Primary clocking must be installed in slot 4, with the secondary DTM in slot 3.

I relocated the MBMs and reconfigured and the target lines now function correctly.
