I have a customer that wants the BCM 450 but he needs a system that will do at lest 60 Analog Stations. I know I can do 48 with the keycode my question is can I go ahead and add ATA's to the system to get more analog ports or is 48 ports the limit?
Sure, you can put ATAs on there but where does it say the 450 can only handle 48 analog stations? Restricted by the number of modules you can put in but you should be able to go beyond 48 with an expansion cabinet.
Come on telcodog I did not want to here that, I was hoping someone has actually put more than 48 on it. Hey I'll let you know what I find out. I have a call into Nor.. I mean Avaya also to get some clarification.
Thanks for the info twoway. Instead of the 8 port asm could I just do all ATA's. Even better could I do a FEM mod and add the older fiber ASM's to it? Or is 48 a firm number no matter how I go?
Hawks,
That's a good idea but still not sure if the power would be a problem or not. You may have to run it by Nortel. (Going to call them Nortel for as long as I can)
