I'm looking for a Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer "like" software that can be run on a stand alone pc to gather information about the pc. Example patch level, firewall setting etc. We have consultants that work remotely and need away to document that they are adhering to settings that we require to be enabled.

These pc are not part of a network that I can scan and need for the end users to run and collect the pc settings and information to send it to us. I see that the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer has been discontinued and the 2.11 version that we found and downloded reports incorrect data for widows 10 systems.

We are looking for any recomendation on how to gather the info that we need to collect.

Try OpenVAS

OpenVAS is comprised of two primary components. The first one is the OpenVAS scanner. This is the component responsible for the actual scanning of target computers. The second component is the OpenVAS manager which handles everything else such as controlling the scanner, consolidating results, and storing them in a central SQL database. The software has both browser-based and command-line user interfaces. Another component of the system is the Network Vulnerability Tests database. This database can get its updates from either the free Greenborne Community Feed or the paid Greenborne Security Feed for a more comprehensive protection.
