Hello All,

We are having issues connecting my Avaya G3r to a Nortel SL100 switch. This is what we have so far:

1. We recieve Nortel calling party name and number with a leading character that resembles an I with two dots directly above it. What is this character and how can we remove it?
2. When we call the Nortel from the Avaya, they only recieve my number on their phone. They are able to see both my name and number in their ISDN test set.

3. Is it possible to connect full ISDN between Avaya and Nortel switches? If so, what are the configurations?

Thanks

A few things to try in the Definity:

Try changing the Protocol on the DS-1 board. The default is 'a' which is AT&T Custom. 'b'=NI2, 'c'=DMS250.

On the Trunk Group pages, there are a few fields to experiment with: Codeset (default 6, try 0 or 7) and on page 2 'Send Calling Party Name'.

We recently applied the Avaya "Green Feature" and all ISDN Caller ID issues magically disappeared.
