Automatic link updates in PPT Show?

This one has been throwing me for a loop...

I know how to properly embed a linked range of Excel cells into a PPT slide AND how to set the link to automatically update whenever I open the file. However, what I'd LIKE to do is to have a .PPS file constantly looping with slides that would show shipping progress that is updated in real time.

The overall purpose is to have an ongoing information presentation running on a large LCD monitor in our company common area. This will show job info, upcoming events, etc. as well as our current shipping status. The linked Excel file gets updated throughout the day in real time, but the constantly looping .PPS file isn't updating.

Is this possible in PPT '03? I found a link for an "automatically-updates-your-links" add-in for PPT '97 and greater but my PPT '03 wouldn't accept it.

Thanks!

Skip,

I do know how to automatically update my link every time the .ppt file is opened. However, I want the automatic updates to happen while the .pps file is running. I don't want to have to open and close the file each time to show an update. This should be an ongoing, stand-alone process.

Solved! (posting for posterity's sake)

Found this great add-in from Shyam Pillai to do just what I wanted. It's the one I referenced in my original post but I had to drop my macro security settings to accept it.

Works like a charm now!
