I have set up an auto attendant but how do I direct an incoming ddi call directly to it ?
I'm using mailbox 7000 as a menu node.

Assuming this is a 3300 or 2k you could do the following if your DID is not 7000.

Create a phantom line that is rerouted always to the vm. Create a system speed dial that is the DID and point it to the phantom number. Or you could make you menu node the same as the DID and point the phantom number to vm.

i will try that but the other way is to send the DDI to an ACD path then forward to VM that will pass the id to vm

Wouldn't just creating a VM hunt group with the DID number as the DN number for the HG do the trick?

If it's not a specific DDI number then your suggestion of sending it to a path and then forward it to VM will work fine I guess

This ACD path thing, I have seen Mitel issue a bulliten about this method too. I guess it shows the flexibility in the 3300. I think that each shop needs to find the one they like and stick with it. I know that in our shop we have never used hunts or paths to accomplish this.

I have used the path to achieve numerous things a couple of times. Yes, it certainly does make the system just that tad bit more flexible than it already is.

An example:

If you have ever set up Hunt Groups you would find that when an incoming call rings on the Hunt group, the extension that rings will ring until it gets answered. So there is no real hunting for that specific call whilst it's connected. The only way to get that call to move onto the next available extension is to program call rerouting. Having said this though you can only make it ring at two other extensions and that's it.

Using the path you can actually get the call to hunt circularly while the call is still connected.
