Had yet some more outages with the stormy weather here in Jersey and on top of losing my VM again, and all calls coming in getting a dial tone (both rectified for now) now I just had someone bring another issue to me.

Their 4 digit auth code to dial long distance, makes them hit a busy signal. I confirmed this with at least 1 other user and when using my auth code, it goes through fine. So far I have 4 people affected by this and probably more on the way.

Where do I go to configure these, re-assign new ones or remove old ones?

Thanks! Worst Friday ever!

Did it with 6000 (a code that will not work)

Hit RMBR 3 46

Did it with 6666 which works...and got RMBR 3 46 also.

Perhaps I am confused - we dial a Flexible feature code then enter the auth code hear the confirmation tone and then dial the number. You are adding the auth code after the phone number. Doesn't that process already put you out on the PRI or whatever facility you are using? The way you are dialing the number once you hit your 9 and area code you are already on your way out. That would then lead you to the NCOS of the phone for those codes that are not in the system. I think your not using the auth code process correctly.

prt the npa 1212 and the rlb that it points to

Is the way SteveLord is using authorization codes (after dialing his AC1 or 2 and the number) the way you understand auth codes to work?

that is the only way i have ever seen them work.. we use them on our 81, the auth tone is given post dial string If the set has an ncos =to or less the mfrl of the rlb..

on my setup if your ncos is 0 (internal) and you dial local, your prompted.. if your ncos is 1 you can dial local, but dialing any ld npa sends you to a rlb with a mfrl of 2, so you get prompted.. on my set the ncos is 7, i never get auth tone.. and we only use ac1, ac is not puplished..

Is there any chance this could be set with my carrier? Its just the inaccuracy of the list makes me think it is. I've been told in the past, our carrier has pointed the finger back at us though.

Print both AUTH Codes 6000 and 6666 and you will probaly see that 6666 has a higher NCOS/FRL assigned to it than 6000. until you compare both your wasting your time guessing at an answer. Start with the easy answer and work toward the hard answer.

Not all AUTH Codes are created equal.

I get an AUTH008 message trying to. Which means they dont exist?

LD 88
REQ PRT
TYPE AUT
CUST 0
SPWD 0000
CODE 6666
AUTH008

Tried for 0044 and all I got was CLAS 005. And this code does not work.

If 6666 doesn't exist as an AUTH Code then how is it making calls?

Do a Print DNB of 6666 and post the result here. I think 666 is a trunk ACOD.

here's the flaw in that.. i was thinking the same thing.. he dials.. 9,l 1212 plus 7d.. gets auth code tone.. even is 6666 is a dn or an acd or a acod.. your in ld 88 by then.. 9 takes you to 90, 1212 send you to the rlb, in 86, mfrl ask for a matching number in ld 88..

answer one more.. when you hear auth code request tone.. you do a trac, are you connected to a trunk, prior to entering any code????

have you ini'ed the opt 11?

prt the npa 1212, then print that rlb..what is the mfrl of that entry? and what is the ncos of your set?

is 6666 is on the carrier, dial the acod of the route, then 1212 plus the number.. do you get a request for auth code? that would isolate it to the carrier

I'll see what I can do Monday morning. Looks like we suffered more power outages over the weekend as my Procromm PC cant be reached from here at home.

Tried a PRT DNB of 6666 and nothing came up.

Here's the PRT of the 212 area code.

Code:
REQ PRT
CUST 0
FEAT NPA

ESN009
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
TYPE NPA

NPA 1212

NPA 1212
RLI 4
DENY 540

DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 2

The NCOS of the set in my office is 5.

Based on the information you've provided so far, I'm incline to believe the AUT codes are from the Telco or the system is corrupted as some has suggested.

Your 1212 NPA used RLI 4(below), you're calling from your phone which has a NCOS of 5, you shouldn't be prompted for the AUT code unless it was the Telco prompt and not the PBX...

RLI 4
ENTR 0
LTER NO
ROUT 3
TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON
4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON
CNV NO
EXP NO
FRL 4
DMI 0
FCI 0
FSNI 0
CBQ NO

ENTR 1
LTER NO
ROUT 1
TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON
4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON
CNV NO
EXP NO
FRL 0
DMI 0
FCI 0
FSNI 0
CBQ NO

ISET 0
MFRL 4

On the phone with my carrier now. Wish I had done this sooner, but the coicedence of the constant power outages and information fed to me from other employees lead me to believe it was the pbx.

They have a list of 120 numbers and some of the ones I am reading off to them that USE to work...are NOT showing on that list.

Going to see if they can give me a copy of that please.

Sorry if I racked some brains around here. =)

that was the "tell" i was looking for.. mfrl 4, his ncos 5, he still was prompted for an auth code.. but not from the switch..

my early post was trying to get a trac to determine if a trunk was active when he hears the auth tone.. if auth is in house, no trunk is active until post auth code...

75 post later...
