Auth Codes Wiped Out?

Had yet some more outages with the stormy weather here in Jersey and on top of losing my VM again, and all calls coming in getting a dial tone (both rectified for now) now I just had someone bring another issue to me.

Their 4 digit auth code to dial long distance, makes them hit a busy signal. I confirmed this with at least 1 other user and when using my auth code, it goes through fine. So far I have 4 people affected by this and probably more on the way.

Where do I go to configure these, re-assign new ones or remove old ones?

Thanks! Worst Friday ever!

When you are doing your testing, are you using one phone or multiples? What about test phone numbers?

The info John and the others have sent is right on the money so let's break down your test procedures.
1. Use one specific phone when testing and one specific l/d number.
2. Test first with your auth code that has proven to work.Does it still work?
3. Test next with an auth code that is on the printout but you have found not to work. Does it still not work?

On your printout, you might have a buffer size problem that is not allowing the entire list to print. Have you tried printing a single number that you say works but does not appear on the list?

Also, with the number that you say works and does not appear on the printout, are you testing using the same l/d number and same test phone?

I've tested with my auth code and those of users who are no longer working...on multiple phone sets.

Authorized or not, you'll know on ANY phone here.

I am testing mainly with the same LD number, which is that of our NYC sales office where many people here make calls to.

My printout has a page in a half of auth codes. Havent gone through all of them, but some DO work and others DO NOT.

Auth codes have NCOS, FRL, CLS and TGAR assigned to them, make sure the ones you are using can use the RLI. Not all questions can be answered with a YES or NO, there are many factors involved. when you print out your AUTH codes it should list all the Classes

Just to make sure you are not looking at the information you provided above as your auth list are you? That is the data block. To get the actual list of codes programmed you need to print the AUT (entries data block)

You need to know what NCOS = what FRL These are not AUTH codes, theses are what the CLAS are assigned. when you creat an AUTH code you assign a CLAS to it and that determs what that AUTH code can do. From what you have printed here, you are only using CLAS 3, 4 and 5 and they equal NCOS 3, 4 and 5

as postsed, prt your aut block in 88. some of the codes that do not work are not a high enough class.. if someone makes a change in 86 it could disable cls 3 real easy.. from your ld 86 post i do not see any purpose for cls 3 aut codes.. unless your requiring a auth codes to dial local from some stations..

breakdown.. if one code works from your phone, and another one does not, prt the class of each code.. that would seem be the only possible block

Many codes that people use to use are NOT listed and many that DO work still are NOT listed. Like 6666...will get you to a LD number, but its NOT listed. And also for example, mine is 8951 which is listed and works. However, 0044 is listed, but DOES NOT.

I haven't tested them all, but I assume the pattern will follow throughout the list.

Post the NCTL info for NCOS 5 in LD 87. Previous post was for 0-4 as requested but Auth Code 0044 is Cls 5/COS 5. This might be one of your problems.

They are all the same still. 0129 is a CLAS 5, but it works. The inaccuracy of this list is really confusing me.

that post raised yet another flag.. your auth codes are not on your switch.. you have mfrl's set but your not using that rlb for ld... dial a ld number, use auth code 6666, trac that to the trunk, find the rlb that sent you to that route.. check that rlb for mfrl..

the only way i know for a auth code to work and not be in your printout is to be on the carrier.. i did look at your printouts.. but try this...NEW POST..

dial ld, use rlb.. what is the ncos of that set? use auth code 6666..what routed did you hit? (don't need to post the route or set).. i do want to see the npa enter and the rli..

what you've told me is impossible... which means one of us overlooked something.. this is a good one, wish i was on site..

Im glad this is raising an eyebrow elsewhere. I CAN SAY that when we get our phonebills, that the 4 digit codes are printed on them. I made a thread on here a few months ago asking about how to track someone calling MEXICO that was using 6000 as their code...cuz it worked.

Now I have to bother you for the commands to trace a call. Hopefully this whole gaggle is educating someone other than me. =)

step by step off the call, do an enhanced trace in ld 80

entc <TN> 0100 dev

.gotr

every action the set takes for an hour ( or whatever you set the time to, will spit out

exit the load will stop the trace, to clear the trace then exit

stop trace - .stpt

Am I doing something wrong? Or does it not work in Option11?

.ENTC 4 10 0100 DEV

TRA305

GOTR

TRA305

.entc 4 10 011

TRA100

gotr

TRA100

Tried making calls and neither seems to be doing anything.

It is diff for 11, I'm sorry.

trac c dn (cust dn)

trak c u ( trace call associated w/ this unit)

I don't see the enhanced traces for 11s, but you can set it up, make a call, hit enter once connected and get a lot of info

On a Small System, some loop-level commands are replaced with slot-level
commands. Valid commands for these systems are shown here:
TRAC c acod List route number, type and status of each trunk under customer c
TRAC c dn Trace calls for customer c Directory Number or Local Steering Code dn
TRAC c r m Trace calls for customer c, route r, member m
TRAD c ch Trace digital calls, channel ch of card c
TRAD loop ch Trace DTI calls, channel ch of loop
TRAK c u Trace calls associated with this unit
TRAK c u k Trace calls associated with key k on the specified unit
TRAO c u Trace attendant calls, this unit
TRAO c u k Trace attendant calls on key k of unit
TRAO xx...xx DEV Print auxiliary data

it should work by just makeing the call, using that one auth code then doing a static trac.. we want to see if the rlb that is used has a mfrl that is sending auth tone
