Auth Codes Wiped Out?

Had yet some more outages with the stormy weather here in Jersey and on top of losing my VM again, and all calls coming in getting a dial tone (both rectified for now) now I just had someone bring another issue to me.

Their 4 digit auth code to dial long distance, makes them hit a busy signal. I confirmed this with at least 1 other user and when using my auth code, it goes through fine. So far I have 4 people affected by this and probably more on the way.

Where do I go to configure these, re-assign new ones or remove old ones?

Thanks! Worst Friday ever!

Just curious, are you 100% certain that your LD carrier isn't controlling LD codes? I know it's a stupid question, but that might explain some of what you've described.

Im pretty sure because of the fact that they were (as I was told) originally setup using the last four numbers of the user's SSN.

After reading everyones comments, my feeling is, it's not an AUTH code problem, but a trunk problem. Post a RLB of your LD.
To test your routes using the ACCESS CODE to the route you need to make your phones TGAR 0 so you can access them, otherwise if there is a match you would get a busy.

Ace, That's whatI have been trying to get across here. You dial the access code of the route, but still get a busy, then it is not the auth codes. Get on the trunk with a but set and see if you have dialtone and if you can dial out on it?

fast way to determine if auth codes are switch based.. ld 86 and prt your rlb for ld. mfrl turns auth codes on or off.. you can build aut and aub, but unless you tell ld 86 to give auth tone and when, it is not working..

on the trunk or auth code.. dial ld from a normal in house only station.. get auth code tone, do not dial, the 120 ipm goes solid with an auth code, unless someone played with ftc.

you mentioned that your auth code works, try it on a users phone that does not work.. and yes you can enter codes one at a time then assign it a cls.. cls determines what ncos and/or tgar it moves the station to for the duration of the call.. and i do not know a way to assign an auth code to a station in 88

Dialing the ACCESS code and getting a busy means there is a TARG/TGAR match and has nothing to do with AUTH codes.

Were all just guessing here, unless SteveLord post a RLB for use to look at. SteavLord pick a NPA that someone can't dial and see what RLI it say's to use, then post that RLB here.

Alright, I hope this is what you guys need.

This helps some, but what NPA are you having a problem with?
In LD 90 print the NPA for that and post what RLI it's telling you to use.

Ok, using your example. If by NPA, you mean particular area codes...this issue is across many that I wouldnt even be able to list since I have at least 7 people that have reported to me their auth code wasnt working. A lot of our LD calls goto our sales office in NYC. Area code 212

are you using station specific auth codes...print out 1 of the phones having problems dialing. See if you have a AUTH prompt on the TN of that set.

otherwise go to ld 88 and readd what you're missing

req=new
type=aut
cust=0 or whatever cust you're using
spwd=your spwd
code=enter your code
clas=enter the class that the code belong too

print out your and see what class it belong too, since you mention that yours worked

The auth codes are not restricted to individual sets. They can be used from any set.

(9+1+Number...wait for Tone...4 digit auth code...Connect)

go to ld 88

print out your clas

prt
aub
0
enter all the way through, shoudl print out the CLAS table.

look for that class that gives you the tgar,ncos and cos you want. it will be in this order

clas, cos, tgar, ncos
clas (container of the auth codes)
cos = unr, ctd, ...etc
tgar = 0-7 or whatever tgar you have define
ncos = the ncos you will be given for that clas

once that is done, print out your aut datablock and add any missing

req=new
type=aut
cust=0 or whatever cust you're using
spwd=your spwd
code=enter your code
clas=enter the class that the code belong too

Code:
CLAS COS TGAR NCOS CLAS COS TGAR NCOS CLAS COS TGAR NCOS

000  UNR  00   00     001  UNR  00   00     002  UNR  00   00
003  CTD  12   03     004  CTD  12   04     005  CTD  12   05
006  UNR  00   00     007  UNR  00   00     008  UNR  00   00
009  UNR  00   00     010  UNR  00   00     011  UNR  00   00

Looks like we got something here. There's a ton more..are all zeros. Does that mean that only 3 containers with the AUTH codes work? And for those whose codes still work, it means they are safe in these 3 containers?

Another thing, the code list...is inaccurate. We have many numbers that are NOT in that list, but still work. Which means if someone catches on, they will be able to use random codes to dial LD.

all your auth codes should be class 3 4 and 5. and they are a direct map.. none of then change the set to unr, they all use tgar 12 and each change the ncos to the class number.. so if my set is ncos 1 and i enter a auth code that is cls 3, my ncos is reset to 3.. same is true about 4 and 5..

your nctl is clean, your rlb's are pointed right. (not a great build) because i do not want to read the 36 ft long post, what is it not doing?.. if you have one station that works and one that does not.. match the ncos/tgar and ctd/unr cls.. then try the same auth codes from each.. if one auth code (any where) does not work, look it up, what cls is that auth code? some of your rlb's are set to frl 4, so a cls 3 will not go out that route.. is that by design..

I'll go over some key points for ya john based on the feedback I've gotten from here of what things "should" be and what the system has given me.

-For starters..To Dial LD. 1+Number...Tone...4Digit Auth code...Connect

-Several people now hit a busy signal when they do this

-The AUTH code list that the system gives me is inaccurate. Its not as long as I expected it to be, many random numbers that DO work are not listed. I even just verified with an employee across from me whose number works, but it is NOT listed.

-However, some numbers are listed for people around here. Mine, my boss's, one of our accountants for example.

-On the flipside, some number in this list DO NOT WORK and will hit the busy signal.

-I even tried adding a number, which did show up in the list...but it TOO hits a busy.

-They are not built into the phonesets, because they work anywhere in the company...when they DO work.
