I am relatively new to the field. I currently work as a Business Analyst/DB programmer. My work is mostly with SQL, Access/VBA, Excel, and possibly in the future VB and HTML/JAVA/ASP.

Mostly I analyza data, create databases and reports for all areas of the company.

Now that I'm settled in a career I finally love, I need to keep up. Can anyone suggest some good reading or associations for doing this?

Much appreciated!!

Hi,

A number of excellent technical publications from Pinnacle Publishing, to see what suits your needs.

The Association for Computing Machinery ( and IEEE Computing group ( are the widely recognised and respected associations both within and outside the USA.

There may well be other more local ones that I am unaware of, perhaps more local trade associations and user groups.
