This is the same as my first question:

Thank you very much everybody but that is not enough...

I try to explain.

I work with a development language -SQR- and it can only execute selection sentences to the database and to work with the selection results.

Maybe this example should help you to know the response about my necessity: this is the query for ORACLE:
select GLOBAL_NAME
from GLOBAL_NAME;

It works ok if I am programming SQR againt an ORACLE database. But that query does not exist for SQLBase.

Can anybody know the query?

In oracle, if you type this select sentence -in SQLPlus (or SQLTalk)- you will know the database name (SID)

SELECT GLOBAL_NAME FROM GLOBAL_NAME;

which one is the same for SQLBase?
