Aloha won't stop re-gringing.

Aloha seems to be hung-up. The re-gring keeps running and will not stop. Looks like a batch file starting regrind.exe over and over.

It's not regrind it is GRIND>EXE that keeps running.

Make that " GRIND.EXE " . Runs over & over with a 2 sec pause. Has everything screwed-up!!

Stop CTLSVR.EXE on the server/main.

How do you stop it? I tried task manager and get an error and recieve an acess denied.

Right click on my computer, manage, services. Find the service and stop it. Rename the dated sub it is trying to grind (old20060829). Then restart the service to get the system back up. You wll not be able to access this day until its issue is resolved and it is renamed correctly.

Make sure your logged into Windows with administrator access.

when the Grind screen comes up, look at the blue title bar at the top of the window. It will say the date that it is trying to grind. Something like:
DATE 20060304
or DATE DATA

Either way, it is probably a corupt trans.log that is causing it.

Are you using Enterprise, e-cards, or anything like that?

Look for a file named EGRIND. Delete the file and the grinding should stop.

Copy the 'Done 30' file from a previous dated sub to that sub and that will fake it out.

Not to go against you Bo, but don't you mean the "GNDDBF30.XXX" file? This is the file I use to trick repeating grinding. Then after that I manually grind it from a command prompt - c:\aloha\bin\grinde.exe /date 20061101
