Whenever somebody calls one of the main numbers into our Avaya Partner ACS R5 system configured with Partner Messaging R6, all of the phone extensions get an initial ring before the automated attendant picks up. I thought that setting the VMS Hunt Delay to 0 rings would do it, but it doesn't. Does anybody know how to configure the system so that automated attendant picks up immediately without innitially ringings all extensions?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Regards,
-Annette

Set the phones for NO ring on the incoming lines, except for your Operator, set to Delayed ring (so if all the voice mail ports are busy, the Operator gets the call after 4 rings)

At ext. 10:
Feature 00
Left Intercom Twice
Right Intercom Once
Dial an Extension Number
The lines light up - touch each line once or twice until the light flutters rapidly, and the display says Lxx No Ring
Right Intercom and the next extension number
Feature 00 when finished.

WOW! You're genius! Thanks so much. I couldn't find this anywhere in docs. Is this an undocumented feature? Thanks very, very much!

Any qualified tech could answer that one! The automated attendant gets the ring at the same time all of the other phones do, even though it's going to pick up as soon as it "hears" the ring - thus the 1/2 ring on all the other sets.

If you have incoming caller id, set the auto attendant to 2 rings, so you can receive the number.

Enjoy the site! There's lots of good information available!
