Our restaurant has several impact printers (Epson models U188B and U200). I want to use one on the expo line but when I put it there, an error light blinks and the printer shows as offline. I had a U220 printer there, currently using a thermal printer. We have a hot apps station that uses one of those printers without any error and that is connected to the same Aloha terminal. I've changed hardware settings each time I change printers.

What I've tried:
[ul]
[li]I've connected the impact printers to the receipt printer's cables and it prints just fine.[/li]
[li]I've tried swapping them for the hot apps station, they work just fine[/li]
[li]I've gotten a new Cat5 cable, doesn't work[/li]
[/ul]

I haven't tried is swapping the power adapters. Would that make any difference?

Any suggestions?

Have you toned out the cable that feeds the Expo station? If the printer works if plugged directly to the terminal that sends it information then the only issue is the cabling. Have a low voltage person check the cable and make sure all pairs are in tact.

Turned out to be the power adapter. I swapped it out with another printer and it works just fine now.
