Here's my question and senario, I hope someone can explain how this is suppose to work.
Besides managing where a user can browse to does a proxy server also maintain a/the list of servers that are on a local intranet?
My web servers are all seen as being on the Internet. (Bottom right of the IE status bar). I know that if I go into Internet Options I can add my servers to the Local Intranet zone.
Or, I can add these same servers into the Proxy LAN Settings Exceptions box.
Doing either of these then allows me to connect without having to travel through the proxy server.
The problem is I've got 1400+ machines and would rather have the proxy server manage this rather than force the IT support staff to touch each PC and make these changes manually.
Is this suppose to be handled via settings in the Proxy Server controls or is this some type of DNS issue, or am I just really confused?
Thanks!
