adding apps to one tomcat instance

I have two web apps that use tomcat. Each was installed seperately into different locations and both are working fine. PROBLEM IS: We have two java.exe processes that are consuming system resources which i feel are redundant.

Can somebody guide me how I can direct both apps to use same instance?

Please give me instructions. I am a novice with Apache Servers.
